Dr. Thomas Kodadek
Dr. Thomas Kodadek, chief of translational research, has been named holder of the Julie and Louis Beecherl Jr. Chair in Medical Science.
Dr. Kodadek's division focuses on linking clinicians with new techniques and with existing state-of-the-art technologies already on campus to help with the diagnosis and treatment of patients. His background includes chemistry, proteomics and genomics.
His research includes the use of combinatorial libraries, microarray analyses and novel approaches to the study of multiprotein complexes.
He is also the director of the UT Southwestern Center for Proteomics Research, one of 10 national centers funded by the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute. The center is dedicated to developing new technologies for proteomics.
