Dr. Robert D. Timmerman

Dr. Robert D. Timmerman, former co-director of the Indiana Lions Gamma Knife Center and associate professor of radiation oncology at the Indiana University Medical Center, has been named professor of radiation oncology.
Dr. Timmerman will direct programs involving image-guided stereotactic radiation therapy, a new principle in cancer treatment using the latest developments in radiobiology and radiophysics, at the W.A. Monty & Tex Moncrief Radiation Oncology facilty. He received his M.D. from the University of South Dakota School of Medicine and completed a radiation oncology residency at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore.
"Dr. Timmerman is an internationally recognized expert in the field of stereotactic radiosurgery," said Dr. Hak Choy, chairman of radiation oncology.
