Olson to present President's Lecture
Dr. Eric Olson, chairman of molecular biology, will present the first installment of the President’s Lecture Series since Dr. Daniel K. Podolsky became president of UT Southwestern in Sept. 2.
The lecture, which is targeted at faculty members, staff and students, is scheduled for Jan. 20 at 4 p.m. in the Tom and Lula Gooch Auditorium on the South Campus.
Dr. Olson has titled his talk “Heart Breaking and Heart Making” and describes it as an overview of his work and that of his laboratory team.
Dr. Olson is director of the Nancy B. and Jake L. Hamon Center for Basic Research in Cancer and the Neaburg Family Center for Basic Research in Pediatric Oncology, and holder of the Pogue Distinguished Chair in Research on Cardiac Birth Defects, the Robert A. Welch Distinguished Chair in Science, and the Annie and Willie Nelson Professorship in Stem Cell Research.
