How to Apply
The Department of Urology residency program participates in the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) and applications must be submitted through ERAS.
Each applicant’s file is carefully reviewed, but before an invitation is extended, the applicant’s file must contain:
- Three letters of recommendation
- USMLE scores
- A transcript
An application is considered complete only when all of the above items are available for viewing online. Our deadline for accepting completed applications is October 1. Please do not mail or email additional materials; they will not be included with the application for review.
The Department of Urology offers two interview dates each year—usually one in October and one in November. The interview process includes a dinner with residents the evening before the one-on-one interview sessions. On the day of the interviews breakfast and lunch will be provided, and current residents will provide you with a tour of the campus.
Getting to Know Us
We want interviewees to have a complete overview of UT Southwestern Medical Center and the Department of Urology residency program so you can make an informed decision when preparing your rank list for the match.
We know that to get a real understanding of our program, interviewees must have some time to meet the faculty and mingle with the residents, and we will make them available to you during the day.
