Research

Research opportunities exist both within and outside the Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, usually through collaboration between a clinical scientist and career scientists. The areas of research include surgical anatomy, implant reconstruction, craniofacial, orthognathic and reconstructive facial surgery, nerve repair and regeneration, acute and chronic oral and facial pain, and oral pathology and cancer.

The faculty are engaged in funded research to advance special interest areas of patient care importance and continue to publish and present their findings at important scientific meetings and through publications.
