Emergency Medicine

Full-Time and Part-Time Faculty

The Division of Emergency Medicine is seeking a full-time and part-time faculty that are board certified/board prepared in Emergency Medicine. Responsibilities include direct patient care in the Emergency Department of Parkland Health and Hospital System and affiliated institutions, teaching and supervision of emergency medicine and other residents on service, medical, pharmacy and nursing students, pharmacists, nurses and EMT's. Development or basic and/or clinical research in emergency medicine, including grant acquisition, strongly encouraged. The successful candidate will have a strong interest in Medical Toxicology, EMS, Violence Intervention, resident education, education and medical research. MD degree from an accredited medical school and completion of an Emergency Medicine.

Assistant Professor

The Department of Surgery and Division of Emergency Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center is seeking candidates to fill an Assistant Professor opening.

This position requires an MD degree from an accredited medical school and completion of emergency medicine residency. Candidates should have direct experience in emergency medicine teaching and research and be board certified.

This faculty position will be responsible for direct patient care in emergency medicine for Parkland Memorial Health and Hospital systems, supervision of emergency medicine residents and other residents from other specialties in the emergency department. Vascular Surgery

Instructor

The Division of Vascular Surgery is currently recruiting for an Instructor level faculty position. Requirements are MD or PhD in related scientific field and 2 years of research experience. Background in vascular and endovascular disease is preferred. Duties will include design, conduct and analysis of prospective clinical studies in vascular and endovascular disease. Program knowledge in SAS, EPI INFO and MS Access for statistical analysis is imperative. Understanding of NIH grants proposals, applications and budgeting is advantageous. Because this position is a NIH grant sponsored Hispanic study, fluency in Spanish is mandatory.

Department of Surgery

Chair, Division of Colorectal Surgery

The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center is inviting applications for the position of Chair of the Division of Colorectal Surgery. Candidates must be board certified in colorectal surgery and be eligible for faculty appointment at the level of Associate Professor or Professor. Candidates should have a national reputation as an outstanding surgeon, have a solid record of academic productivity, and be experienced in postgraduate education. Evidence of administrative responsibility is desirable. The colorectal surgery program has a long tradition of excellence within the Department of Surgery. The program oversees an accredited colorectal residency, and busy colorectal services already exist in two of the four institutional hospitals. We are expanding program into a division to support growth in areas such as colorectal cancer, sphincter saving surgery, GI motility, and inflammatory bowel disease. The new division has strong institutional support and will have significant resources for recruiting and expanding the clinical practice.
