Postdoctoral researcher Davenport advocates for youth with head injuries

Dr. Elizabeth Moody Davenport joined the Childress Institute for Pediatric Trauma to participate in the Pediatric Trauma Congressional Advocacy Day on October 24. Experts from across the nation met with lawmakers in Washington, D.C., to raise awareness about the numerous circumstances in which trauma can occur, including sports-related head injuries.

Participants emphasized prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation, all areas in need of additional research and resources.

Dr. Davenport, a postdoctoral researcher and a member of the Advanced NeuroScience Imaging Research (ANSIR) lab at UT Southwestern, focuses on brain imaging in youth contact sports.
