The Neurology faculty at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center include specialists in virtually every aspect of neurologic disease. They offer their expertise in diagnosis and care of patients suffering from known or suspected neurologic illnesses.
Services and Facilities
Adult Neurology Patients
Outpatient care for adult neurology patients (generally over age 16) is provided in the clinic located on the 4th floor of the James W. Aston Ambulatory Care Center at 5303 Harry Hines Boulevard, Dallas, Texas, and the Multiple Sclerosis Clinic at the Professional Office Building #1 of University Hospital-St. Paul at 5959 Harry Hines Boulevard, Dallas, Texas. Numerous examination and treatment rooms are available at both locations.
The 4th floor Aston facility also houses an infusion clinic staffed with chemotherapy certified nurses and a neurophysiology laboratory offering state-of-the-art nerve conduction studies, electromyography (EMG), single fiber EMG and autonomic studies as ordered by your physician.
Outpatient electroencephalography (EEG) and polysomnography (sleep studies) are performed on the 8th floor of Parkland Memorial Hospital, where the latest technology in video EEG monitoring is available for in-patient evaluation as well. The St. Paul clinic provides a full range of outpatient services for patients with multiple sclerosis/neuroimmunology diseases along with an infusion clinic staffed with chemotherapy certified nurses.
Pediatric Neurology Patients
Outpatient care for pediatric neurology patients is provided in the Children's Medical Center Dallas Pediatric Neurology Clinic located on the 12th floor of the Chase Bank Building at 6300 Harry Hines Boulevard, Dallas, Texas. Patients requiring hospitalization are admitted to Children's Medical Center, 1935 Motor Street, Dallas, Texas.
Hours of Operation and Telephone Calls
The Aston and St. Paul MS clinics are open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday–Friday and are closed weekends and holidays. After hours, the on-call staff physician or resident may be reached through the answering service at 214-648-8243. Established patients may contact their physician during the day by calling the general clinic number 214-645-8800. For medication refills (established patients only), have your pharmacy contact your physician at 214-645-8800.
The Chase Bank Building Pediatric Neurology Clinic is open 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday–Friday and is closed weekends and holidays. After hours, the on-call staff physician or resident may be reached through the answering service at 214-456-2768. Established patients may contact their physicians during the day by calling the general clinic number 214-456-2768. For medication refills (established patients only), have your pharmacy contact your physician at 214-456-2768.
Making an Appointment
New patients requesting an appointment must have a referral from another physician. The neurology clinic does not accept self referrals.
To request an appointment with a faculty physician for an adult patient, you may call the Aston clinic at 214-645-8800. The following information will be required:
- name
- date of birth
- social security number
- current address
- home and work phone numbers
- insurance information
- reason(s) for examination
- medical records with reports of pertinent tests and evaluations already completed
Depending on your insurance, you may also need a referral from your primary care provider. It is the responsibility of the patient (new and established) to bring a copy of his or her referral to the appointment. New patients are asked to arrive 30 minutes prior to scheduled appointment to complete registration.
Appointments for Pediatric Patients
To request an appointment with a faculty physician for a pediatric patient, you may call the Chase Bank Building Pediatric Neurology Clinic at 214-456-2768. The following information will be required:

- insurance information
- reason(s) for examination
- medical records with reports of pertinent tests and evaluations already completed

New patients are asked to arrive 30 minutes prior to scheduled appointment to complete registration.
Please contact the clinic at least 24 hours in advance if you need to cancel or change your appointment. This allows another patient to be scheduled. Also, please note that it is important to arrive on time to your appointment. If you arrive 15 or more minutes after your scheduled appointment time, your appointment may have to be rescheduled.
