The Palliative Medicine Team at UT Southwestern Medical Center functions to provide specialized care for patients and families living with serious and terminal illnesses. Currently, Palliative Care consult services offer help for inpatients at William P. Clements Jr. University Hospital, Zale Lipshy Pavilion—William P. Clements Jr. University Hospital, and Parkland Memorial Hospital. In addition, there is an outpatient clinic for patients at Parkland Memorial Hospital and the Harold C. Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center.

The goal of the UT Southwestern Palliative and Supportive Care Team is to help patients live with the best quality of life possible by providing symptom management and psychosocial support. We are also dedicated to training the next generation of outstanding Academic Palliative Medicine Physicians with the skills to conduct clinical research, teach the next generation of residents and fellows, and provide exemplary care to patients from all backgrounds, especially those from underserved and culturally diverse populations.
