General Internal Medicine
The mission of the William T. and Gay F. Solomon Division of General Internal Medicine (GIM) is to provide excellence in patient care, research, and education. With 125 faculty members, the Division is the largest clinical care division at UT Southwestern Medical Center.
General Internal Medicine physicians care for outpatients at the James W. Aston Ambulatory Care Center, William P. Clements Jr. University Hospital, and at Parkland Memorial Hospital's Center for Internal Medicine.
The Division also provides inpatient care and medical consultations at William P. Clements Jr. University Hospital, Parkland Memorial Hospital, Zale Lipshy University Hospital, and the Dallas Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Division faculty play key leadership roles in medical student and resident education, and spearhead UT Southwestern outcomes, health services, quality of care, and geriatrics research programs. GIM faculty also lead clinical and educational programs at the VA Medical Center and UT Austin-Seton Medical Center.
