Offering comprehensive education, research and clinical advancement to physicians and patients.

The Southwestern Center for Minimally Invasive Surgery offers physicians, surgeons and nurses access to a complete clinical, educational, and research foundation for evaluating technological advancements and providing patients with top-quality care.  Operations and therapeutic procedures performed through smaller incisions are becoming standard in surgical medicine, and skill in using videoendoscopic technology is critical to the success of today's surgeon.  Recognizing that development, the Southwestern Center for Minimally Invasive Surgery offers continuing medical education courses for community doctors and nurses taught by expert faculty.  One of the most comprehensive educational facilities in the southwestern United States, the multidisciplinary center also offers physicians throughout the region an opportunity to refer patients to an easily accessible and central location.  Based at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas, renowned for its clinical and research programs, this laparoscopy center is unique because it offers immediate access to ongoing investigations at the medical school.
