Robert Castillo Jr.
D.N.P., M.H.A., RN, CCRN, (R)(T)(AART)
Nurse Manager, Dialysis

From his nominator: “Robert has accomplished more within his short (nine-year) tenure as a nurse than many of us who have been nurses for several decades. He clearly has a passion for knowledge and process improvement, constantly seeking innovative ideas and creative solutions. He emphasizes collaboration and always holds himself and his team to high standards. He became a leader during the COVID-19 pandemic – one of the most trying times in our lives. Instead of feeling deterred, Robert found that the crisis further fueled his passion for leadership.”

Assistant Director, Office of Advanced Practice Providers

From his nominator: “Bradley’s visionary leadership has been instrumental in addressing the critical shortage of specialized health care providers in our region, particularly in the critical care and mental health domains. In addition to Bradley’s leadership in advanced practice provider postgraduate programs, he continues to maintain a clinical practice as a nurse practitioner in Emergency Medicine and provides care to some of the most vulnerable members of our community. We are proud of his commitment and dedication to developing the future APPs who will provide care in much needed clinical areas.”

Christi Nguyen
D.N.P., RN, FACHE, NEA-BC, CENP
Associate Chief Nursing Officer, Nursing Excellence

From her nominator: “Christi is a nurse leader and champion who always works to ensure that people have a voice and are included in the conversation. Recently, when she observed that certain groups needed some help applying for nursing scholarships (namely patient care technicians, medical office assistants, health unit coordinators, and those who speak English as a second language), she organized a committee to help them with their applications. Not only were the team members grateful, but those serving on the committee were delighted to be able to help people reach their goals to further their education.”

Nurse Manager, Zale Lipshy Pavilion 5

From her nominator: “‘Loved, cared for, and treated as if I were the only patient on the floor’ – that is how her patients describe how Nancy makes them feel. And as a nurse leader and role model, she has inspired other nurses to continue their education. Nancy has also had the opportunity to lead major planning efforts and renovation projects. She also volunteers as a nurse practitioner at a nonprofit clinic to help others who truly need help.”
