UTSW Unscripted: Elizabeth Davenport, Ph.D.

The journey of Assistant Professor of Radiology and Biomedical Engineering Elizabeth Davenport, Ph.D., from a small town in North Carolina to UT Southwestern is grounded in a lifelong curiosity about how things work. With a background shaped by hands-on learning, family mentorship, and experience as an EMT, she now leads cutting-edge research as Technical Director of UTSW’s Magnetoencephalography Center of Excellence. Magnetoencephalography is a state-of-the-art technology that maps brain function. Her work is helping reshape how we understand and treat neurological conditions, all while fostering the next generation of scientists. Dr. Davenport has an additional appointment in the Advanced Imaging Research Center.
