Employees celebrating milestone anniversaries share highlights of working at UT Southwestern

Daniel K. Podolsky, M.D., President of UT Southwestern, hosted a breakfast and a luncheon the second week of June to honor employees with 60, 45, 40, 35, and 30 years of service and to welcome new members of the Quarter Century Club.

June 10-11, UT Southwestern welcomed 127 employees into the Quarter Century Club, meaning they have achieved 25 years of UT System service. At annual Employee Recognition Program celebrations, 86 other colleagues who reached milestones of 30, 35, 40, 45, or 60 years of service also were honored. For the first time, faculty were added to the Employee Recognition Program, which began in 1996. Among honorees featured in the video is 45-year employee Madeline Kirven-Gamble, Administrative Manager in Information Resources, who said: “I enjoy the people. It’s like family here.” Another is honoree C. Munro Cullum, Ph.D., Professor of Psychiatry, Neurology, and Neurological Surgery, who said: “I am no less excited to be here at UT Southwestern than I was 30 years ago. It’s an ever-changing, fun, challenging and stimulating environment.” Learn more from other honorees in the video, including one who operated on a gorilla and another who is a stepping champion.
