First UTSW job: Patient Care Technician.
Best part about my job: What I enjoy most about my job is the opportunity to drive positive change. I find it very rewarding to identify challenges, work collaboratively to improve processes, and create solutions that make operations more efficient and effective.
How co-workers describe me: They would describe me as knowledgeable, reliable, and resourceful. I’m also supportive and solutions-oriented, always focused on helping the team move forward to improve how we work.
Best UTSW memory: Being part of the purchasing team while William P. Clements Jr. University Hospital was being built is a great memory. Watching such a major project come together and knowing our team played a role in making it happen is incredibly rewarding. It felt like being a part of UT Southwestern history.
My proudest UTSW accomplishment: I’m proud of leading initiatives to automate key procurement processes and reduce manual touchpoints for our purchasing team. By improving workflows and eliminating inefficiencies, we created a more scalable and effective operation, reduced administrative burdens, and enabled the team to focus on more strategic, value-added work.
I’m really good at: I can bring struggling plants back to life. I love taking a plant that looks like it’s on its last legs and restoring it back to glory.
Hobbies: Traveling gives me the opportunity to experience new places, different perspectives, and recharge. I also enjoy gardening because it’s rewarding to see something thrive with care and attention.
Final note: I truly love what I do, and UT Southwestern has genuinely been home for me. This organization has given me the opportunity to grow, to lead, and to be part of something meaningful. Over the years, I’ve built strong relationships, gained valuable experiences, and found purpose in the work we do. UTSW is more than where I work – it’s a place that has shaped a big part of who I am.
