Clarice L. Grimes, M.D., M.P.H.

Professor
Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology

First UTSW job: My first job involved working as a tissue culture lab assistant in the Department of Molecular Genetics.

Best part about my job: I appreciate the opportunity to consult and collaborate with colleagues across different disciplines and subspecialties. I also enjoy the learning environment of academia and teaching students.

How co-workers describe me: They would say I am professional, caring, and an advocate committed to serving our patients.

Best UTSW memory: My funniest memory was the time I realized that I had on one black shoe and one blue shoe while being sworn in as an expert witness.

My proudest UTSW accomplishment: Serving as an Academic Colleges mentor for Sprague College has been one of my most rewarding achievements. I am also proud of the camaraderie and community that these small groups foster.

I’m really good at: I am excellent at planning and organizing social events.

Hobbies: My passion outside of work is gardening.

Surprising fact: When I was a child, I aspired to be a journalist, a singer, or a flight attendant.
