John McAnally: 25 Years
John McAnally
Senior Research Scientist
Department of Molecular Biology
Of note: My years here have been incredible. I knew in high school that I wanted to do something in genetics and I chased that dream. I took every genetics course I could and applied at UT Southwestern in 2000. I wore a DNA tie to the interview, and I ended up getting the dream job in the best lab on campus involved in CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing research working with Eric Olson, Ph.D., Chair of Molecular Biology. Very few people get to live their dream as their career, but I did. And for that, I am incredibly thankful.
Endowed Titles
Dr. Olson holds the Pogue Distinguished Chair in Research on Cardiac Birth Defects, The Robert A. Welch Distinguished Chair in Science, and the Annie and Willie Nelson Professorship in Stem Cell Research.
