Surprising fact: People are often surprised to learn that I self-published a children’s poetry book featuring the writings of my father, decorated World War II Army veteran and collegiate educator Dr. Jesse L. Colquit. I also enjoy reciting poetry at MLK celebrations and during story time, sharing his work and my love of storytelling with the community. Additionally, most people don’t know I have a twin sister.
