Sustained excellence shows up in the way teams think, lead, and serve. Each year, D Magazine’s Excellence in Nursing Awards recognizes North Texas nurses whose work exemplifies that standard in Direct Care, Education/Research, and Leadership.

This year, 20 UT Southwestern nurses were selected from hundreds of nominations submitted by peers, patients, and health care professionals. Their selection speaks to the role UTSW nurses play in advancing care across the region.

“I am incredibly proud of our nurses,” said Susan Hernandez, D.N.P., M.B.A., RN, Vice President and Chief Nurse Executive at UT Southwestern. “They set a high standard for care, and seeing them recognized by our community reinforces the trust they have earned from patients and peers alike.”
