Administrative Coordinator
Health System Affairs – Clinical Programming and Facility Development

First UTSW job: Working as an Administrative Assistant in the Animal Resources Center.

Best part about my job: Never knowing what surprises, challenges, and adventures will come with each day. I also enjoy having a mixture of diverse responsibilities and opportunities that directly impact the success of my team and UTSW. I thrive on solving problems, helping others to succeed, building relationships, and having a sense of accomplishment!

How co-workers describe me: Resourceful. Many say: “If you need information about anything, just ask Shelia. If she doesn’t know the answer, she will find out (but she will most likely know)!”

My proudest UTSW accomplishment: Working with the team that oversaw the building of William P. Clements Jr. University Hospital from start to finish, and being there on opening day to see our first patients admitted!

Hobbies: I serve as a volunteer and mentor at The Leadership Academy of Creative Arts (TLACA), a nonprofit organization devoted to encouraging literacy in youth and adults. Volunteering, coaching, mentoring, and community outreach are my passions.
