Katawna Devereaux: 35 years

Employee Recognition 35 years, Katawna Devereaux, Hospital Patient Access Team Support, Radiology Imaging Services

First UTSW job: I started in Radiology, where I worked in medical coding and billing, and gained valuable experience in the health care industry.

Best part about my job: It’s teaching others how to collaborate effectively, work as a team, and develop strong customer service skills to benefit both the institution and patients.

How co-workers describe me: A one-of-a-kind radiology scheduling trainer who is detail-oriented, kind, loving, passionate, reliable, motivated, and always encouraging others to perform at 100% or greater.

Best UTSW memory: My fondest moment occurred when I had the privilege of singing “Chain of Fools” by Aretha Franklin and my backup singers were my manager and two other supervisors in the Department.

My proudest UTSW accomplishment: I organized and led a full-day customer service training for about 60 members of our scheduling team.

I’m really good at: Planning events and public speaking.

Passion: I have a strong passion for entertaining people and ensuring they have a great time, whether it’s through hosting events or simply making sure everyone is enjoying themselves.

Surprising fact: People would be surprised to know that I love and enjoy singing (although I really can’t, LOL). I also love making homemade ice cream, experimenting with different flavors.

Final note: I am so grateful for both my family and my work family. My loved ones give me strength and support, while my colleagues make every day at work enjoyable and fulfilling. I feel truly fortunate to be surrounded by such amazing people in both my personal and professional life.
