Best part about my job: I love that what I do makes a difference in patient care. While others are more directly involved in the patient’s physical well-being, what I do is take care of their financial well-being. My mentor explained to me very early in my career that our job involves very sensitive issues – health and their money. I always try to remember that there is a person behind every letter of agreement that I negotiate, and I try to get the best outcome for both the patient and the institution.
