Connie Cervantes: 35 years

Employee Recognition 35 years, Connie Cervantes, Clinical Research Assistant I, Clinical Research Office, Harold C. Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center

First UTSW job: My first job was working in Hematology-Oncology in Pediatrics.

Best part about my job: Working in the first-in-human phase one clinical trials, and especially our team, it is the best!

How co-workers describe me: Dependable, friendly, and a hard worker.

Best UTSW memory: Having the opportunity to work at UTSW and having my family work here as well (two daughters and a sister), which allowed me to see them more often.

My proudest UTSW accomplishment: Having the opportunity of starting from a Registrar and working up to a Clinical Research Assistant. It’s been an adventure!

I’m really good at: I’m pretty good at gardening and, according to my grandson, cooking. He thinks I should open a restaurant.

Hobbies: Gardening, reading, and cooking. I also love to travel with my family.

Final note: I love chickens, pigs, and birds! And I would have to say dogs too, since my children’s dogs are like my grandchildren: Goliath, Charlotte, Theodore, Lady, Sir Bailey, and, the newest addition, Cooper. My children and grandchildren are my heart!
