UT Southwestern’s Postdoctoral Association (PDA) recently presented Dr. Ralph DeBerardinis, Professor at the Children’s Medical Center Research Institute at UT Southwestern (CRI) and Chief of the Division of Pediatric Genetics and Metabolism at UTSW, with the Excellence in Postdoctoral Mentoring Award during National Postdoc Appreciation Week (NPAW).

“I’ve had the benefit of generous and thoughtful mentoring my entire career – even now,” said Dr. DeBerardinis, also a Howard Hughes Medical Investigator. “Mentoring postdocs and students is the best part of an academic life. I’m delighted and deeply touched by the award.”

UT Southwestern celebrated NPAW Sept. 16-20 with the theme “Building Connections.” The week highlighted the contributions postdocs make to research and discovery.

Dr. DeBerardinis holds the Joel B. Steinberg, M.D. Chair in Pediatrics and is a Sowell Family Scholar in Medical Research at UTSW. He is the Robert L. Moody, Sr. Faculty Scholar at the CRI.
