UT Southwestern teams walked either 1- or 3-mile routes through downtown Dallas on Sept. 24, raising more than $37,000 for the American Heart Association (AHA). More than 2,200 walkers on 138 UTSW teams turned out for the Heart Walk in support of the AHA’s mission to fund research on heart disease and stroke. The Cardiology team, led by Amit Khera, M.D., Director of the UTSW Preventive Cardiology Program, was the biggest, signing up more than 150 to walk.
