Buszczak Lab

Our lab seeks to gain new insights into germ cell biology, and how mRNA translation and ribosome biogenesis influences development and disease.

We are currently focusing on how germ cells regulate the translation of their transcriptomes and preserve the integrity of their genomes. We are also interested in the homeostasis and heterogeneity of ribosomes in the context of development.

We hope our discoveries will lead to understanding how perturbations in normal gene function cause disease.

We use in vitro platforms to study how changes in ribosome levels and function impact human development
