Two basic science departments received new leadership with the appointments of William A. Prinz, Ph.D., as Chair of Cell Biology, and Samuel Achilefu, Ph.D., as inaugural Chair of Biomedical Engineering. Dr. Achilefu, recruited from the Washington University School of Medicine, will oversee the new Department while Dr. Prinz, a longtime investigator at the National Institutes of Health, wants to build Cell Biology into one of the best departments in the world.
