You can go home again—and with a Nobel Prize, too
Dr. Bruce Beutler is recognized by the UT Southwestern community for winning the 2011 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine.

UT Southwestern leaders knew what they were getting when they recruited Dr. Bruce Beutler as the founding director of the Center for the Genetics of Host Defense earlier this year. Dr. Beutler began his scientific career at UT Southwestern in 1981 as an intern in the Department of Internal Medicine. He would later serve 14 years on the faculty and as a Howard Hughes Medical Institute Investigator, during which time he would conduct groundbreaking research that would earn him the Nobel Prize. In this video, UT Southwestern leaders honor Dr. Beutler, who responds with his thoughts on UT Southwestern and on winning the Nobel.
