Glucose-Insulin Clamps

A glucose-insulin clamp measures insulin sensitivity, tests hypoglycemic counter-regulation, or assesses beta-cell secretory function.

Estimated time frame for results ranges from two weeks to one month.

Tissues available for collection are: heart, liver, fat, soleus, gastrocnemius, brain, hypothalamus, vastus lateralis, and kidney.

The Core will provide the investigator with the radioactive glucose uptake information in an Excel spreadsheet.

The fee is $300 per mouse per experimental period and $50 per tissue collected.
