Welcome to PALMIST version 1.5.1 PALMIST is software for the analysis of microscale thermophoresis data. It also has powerful simulation features that can be used for any kind of binding data for which the model is implemented in the software (e.g. 1:1 and 1:1 competition binding). TERMS By acquiring and using a copy of PALMIST, you are agreeing to the copyright and notices listed at the end of this file. INSTALLATION In the .zip file that you download, there will be 7 items: (1) A folder called "PALMIST" Under this folder, in a folder called Documentation: (2) This README.txt file. (3) The PALMIST manual (PALMIST_140.pdf) (4) A usage tutorial (PALMISTTutorial.pdf) (5) A competition tutorial (PALMISTCompetition.pdf) (6) A simulation tutorial (PALMISTSimulation.pdf) (7) A plate-reading tutorial(PALMIST_PlateReading.pdf) The folder (item 1) may be placed anywhere on your local hard disk. I recommend against placing it in a networked location. Within the folder is the executable "PALMIST.exe". This executable *must* stay in the PALMIST folder. You may wish to make a shortcut to the executable and/or pin it to the taskbar. PALMIST has only currently been tested rigorously under Windows 7, but it is expected to work under XP, 8, and 10 as well. It may also be possible to use the program in emulated or other environments, but they are not supported. BUGS Please report any bugs in PALMIST to chad.brautigam@utsouthwestern.edu. It would be helpful if you could: (1) describe the steps you took that cause the failure and (2) reliably reproduce the failure. COPYRIGHT AND NOTICES a.
