Technical and Translational Radiotherapy Research

The mission of the Technical and Translational Radiotherapy Research (T2R2) Program is to bring medical physicists and radiation oncologists together to solve important clinical problems by developing novel technologies and translating them into clinical practice. This initiative fosters collaboration between the disparate specialties of radiation oncology, specifically bridging the gap between technical research and the clinical practice.

Founded and co-directed by Drs. Steve Jiang and Robert Timmerman, this Program pairs two principal investigators – one physicist and one physician – on project teams to investigate innovative solutions to clinical problems. The Program also sponsors short-term visits of well-established researchers in technical and translational radiation oncology research through a visiting professor seminar series.
