Dr. Charles White wins award from the American Association of Neuropathologists (AANP)
Dr. Charles White, Professor of Pathology, Director of the Winspear Family Special Center for Research on the Neuropathology of Alzheimer's Disease, and Director of the Neuropathology Section at UT Southwestern, received the Award for Meritorious Contributions to Neuropathology from the American Association of Neuropathologists (AANP) at its 96th Annual Meeting in June, 2020. This annual award recognizes a member who has made significant contributions to the advancement of knowledge in neuropathology and provided service to the AANP. Dr. White completed residency and fellowship training in Anatomic Pathology and Neuropathology at Johns Hopkins and joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 1983. His clinical and research interests focus on neurodegenerative brain disorders. He has been an NIH-funded investigator for over 30 years and holds the Nancy R. McCune Distinguished Chair in Alzheimer's Disease Research. A member of AANP since 1982, Dr. White has served on nearly all of its committees and has held several offices, including serving as President from 2012–2013.
