Congratulations to Said Albahra, M.D., and Michelle Parmley, M.D., for being elected Co-Chief Residents in Pathology for 2018-2019

Said is from Longview, Texas, where his father is also a pathologist. He majored in Economics at Austin College in Sherman, Texas, and received his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine. He matched to the UT Southwestern Pathology residency in the 2015 National Residency Match and is currently a third-year AP/CP resident in our program. Said has been active in the College of American Pathologists Residents Forum and is a member of its Executive Council. He has recently accepted an offer of a fellowship in Dermatopathology at ProPath Laboratories for 2019-2020.

Michelle received her B.S. degree summa cum laude in Aquatic Biology from Texas State University and her medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. She matched to the UT Southwestern Pathology residency in the 2015 National Residency Match and is currently a third-year AP/CP resident in our program. As a medical student, Michelle had performed diagnostic testing for Hantavirus in Zagreb, Croatia; and she has recently returned from an international pathology elective in Kijabe, Kenya. She will be doing a fellowship in Hematopathology at UT Southwestern for 2019-2020.

Said and Michelle will assume their official duties on April 1, 2018.
