UT Southwestern Pathology residents were prominent in national leadership positions at the recent USCAP meeting in Seattle, Washington. On Monday, March 14, a panel discussion for pathology residency directors, moderated by Dr. Charles Timmons, Professor of Pathology, UTSW and Chair of the Program Directors Section of the Association of Pathology Chairs, featured four resident representatives of national organizations, among them two from UT Southwestern representing three different organizations. From left to right in the photograph, the resident panelists are Dr. Meghan Kapp from Vanderbilt University and Dr. Jennifer Kasten from UT Southwestern, the two representatives for the specialty of Pathology in the American Association of Medical College’s Organization of Resident Representatives; Dr. Cliff Sullivan from Emory University, who along with Dr. Kasten represented the American Society for Clinical Pathology’s Resident Council; and Dr. Yasmeen Butt from UT Southwestern, a member of the Executive Committee of the College of American Pathologists Resident Forum. The resident representatives briefed pathology residency directors on the current activities of their respective organizations and answered questions from the floor.
