Jaspreet Abraham, RN, wins D Magazine Excellence in Nursing Award

 

Jaspreet Abraham, RN, a nurse with our Multiple Sclerosis Program, was a winner in D Magazine's Excellence in Nursing Awards for 2016. She was recognized in the category of Ambulatory Nurses.

Shilpa Chitnis, M.D., Ph.D., taking part in Neurology on the Hill.

 

Shilpa Chitnis, M.D., Ph.D., is headed to D.C. soon for "Neurology on the Hill." She was chosen by the American Academy of Neurology as one of several neurologists who will meet face to face with lawmakers.

Cathleen Bauer, APN, wins D Magazine Excellence in Nursing Award

 

Cathleen Bauer, APN, is a winner in D Magazine's Excellence in Nursing Awards for 2016. Cathleen is an integral part of our headache team in the Neurology Clinic.

Dr. Kan Ding awarded grant from Darrell K. Royal Research Fund

 

Dr. Kan Ding was awarded a grant from the Darrell K. Royal Research Fund to study dementia as it relates to traumatic brain injury. Dr. Ding is Assistant Professor of Neurology and Neurotherapeutics.

Dr. Mark Johnson named Best Doctor in Dallas by D Magazine

 

Dr. Mark Johnson was named one of the best doctors in Dallas for 2015 by a D Magazine survey. Dr. Johnson is the leader of the Stroke and Cerebrovascular section in the Department of Neurology and Neurotherapeutics.

Dr. Worthy Warnack named Best Doctor in Dallas by D Magazine

 

Dr. Worthy Warnack was recognized by D Magazine as a Best Doctor in Dallas for 2015. Dr. Warnack is a hospitalist at Parkland Hospital and University Hospitals.

Stroke nurse Susan Alex earns Doctor of Nurse Practice (DNP)

 

Susan Alex, DNP, ANP, RN, earned her Doctor of Nurse Practice from Texas Woman's University. Susan is part of our outstanding stroke team.

Drs. Pravin Khemani and Aashoo Mentreddi represented our department and the Movement Disorders Section at the 2015 International Congress of Parkinson's Disease and Movement Disorders held in San Diego. Both presented posters.

Craig Powell, M.D., Ph.D., will serve on ANA's SPAC

 

Craig Powell, M.D., Ph.D., was selected to serve on the American Neurological Association's Scientific Program Advisory Committee (SPAC). The committee is responsible for determining the educational activities included in the formal program of the ANA's annual meeting.

DaiWai Olson, Ph.D., R.N., elected fellow of the Neurocritical Care Society

 

DaiWai Olson, Ph.D., R.N., was chosen as a fellow of the Neurocritical Care Society. Dr. Olson is only the second nurse to receive this honor. The Neurocritical Care Society has a worldwide membership of healthcare professionals and is dedicated to improving outcomes for patients with life-threatening neurological illnesses.
