West Nile Encephalitis

Robert Haley, M.D., Professor of Internal Medicine, summarized the findings and implications of the investigation of Dallas’ 2012 West Nile encephalitis epidemic at UT Southwestern Internal Medicine Grand Rounds on September 27, 2013.

The unusually large epidemic of West Nile encephalitis in Dallas County was initially described along with high points of the epidemiology of WNV infection in a commentary in the October 3, 2012, issue of The Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA). [Reference]
