Associate Vice Chair Position Announced
Reeni Abraham, M.D., has been named the inaugural Associate Vice Chair of Undergraduate Medical Education for the Department of Internal Medicine.
GIM welcomes Dr. Mulanovich to UTSW
Eduardo Mulanovich, M.D., is originally from Peru and earned his medical degree at the McGovern Medical School at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. He completed residency in Internal Medicine (Medical Education track) at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He completed General Internal Medicine training at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and a Master’s of Science in Medical Education from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, and joined UT Southwestern faculty in 2021. Outside of medicine, he enjoys cooking and caring for his dogs.
Palliative Medicine welcomes it newest member Dr. Khalaf McStay
Dr. Carla Khalaf McStay completed her residency training at Texas A&M College of Medicine - Baylor Scott and White Medical Center and completed her fellowship training in Hospice and Palliative Medicine at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
Division Welcomes Dr. Campbell
Jessica B. Campbell, M.D., received a B.S. in biomedical engineering from Texas A&M University where she graduated summa cum laude, and M.D. from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. Following her internship and residency at Vanderbilt University, she completed a chief residency at St. Thomas Midtown Hospital where she focused on medical education. Prior to moving to Dallas, Dr. Campbell served as a faculty member at the UTHealth McGovern Medical School in Houston, where she grew a busy primary care practice while also pursuing her passion for clinical education. She earned the Dean’s Teaching Excellence Award in 2019. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her two young daughters and husband.
Palliative Care announces new faculty Dr. Alan Chiu
Dr. Alan Chiu is originally from the Philadelphia area where he went to undergraduate at Swarthmore College and medical school at Jefferson Medical College. He completed his residency in Baltimore, MD at the University of Maryland in Internal Medicine, and worked as an internist in San Diego, before completing his Palliative Medicine fellowship at University of California San Diego. Outside of work, Dr. Chiu will spend his time exploring nature with his family and traveling, as well as making home cooked meals for his friends and family.
North Texas VA welcomes Dr. Dellinger
Dr. Oscar Dellinger is originally from Atlanta, Georgia. He received a bachelors degree in Biomedical and Electrical Engineering from Louisiana Tech University and received his medical degree from the University of Alabama in Birmingham. He completed an Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Alabama in Birmingham after completing a rotating internship at The Ochsner Clinic in New Orleans.
Now a part of the Palliative and Hospice team at the North Texas VA, Dr. Dellinger continues to focus on those with the most challenging circumstances as they approach the end of life. His clinical practice emphasizes true goal directed patient centered care.
Dr. Dellinger’s interests outside of medicine include family, food and travel.
Dr. Lee joins the GIM team
Dr. Jhee "June" Lee is originally from Chicago, IL and earned her medical degree at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. She then completed a residency in internal medicine at Emory University in Atlanta, GA. She brings to UT Southwestern her commitment to treating the underserved and educating learners in all stages of training. Her interests outside of medicine include traveling internationally, learning languages, reading, and running.
General Medicine welcomes Dr. Atluri to Las Colinas
Dr. Sumitha Atluri is originally from India, where she completed her medical school at Dr. B.R. Ambedkhar Medical School in Bangalore, India. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Hurley Medical Center in Flint, Michigan. Prior to joining UT Southwestern, Dr. Atluri practiced with John Peter Smith system for nine plus years and consistently earned top patient satisfaction awards.
When not working she is often seen volunteering for multiple causes with her children, attend painting classes, gardening and best of all playing with her labrador. She also loves traveling the world with her family.
GIM's newest faculty recruit Dr. Nandivada
Dr. Srijna Nandivada grew up in the suburbs of Dallas and received her medical degree from Texas A&M Health Sciences Center. Upon completing her training in internal medicine, she returned to Dallas and worked for a couple of years as a primary care physician.
Dr. Nandivada’s interests outside of medicine include her family and friends, traveling, exploring new foods- particularly street food, staying active, and coming home to get a big hug from her dog.
Dr. Katherina Avila joins the GIM team
Dr. Katherina Avila is originally from Mexico and received her medical degree at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She completed her residency in internal medicine at the University of New Mexico while finishing both the primary care and hospitalist tracks. She is excited to come back to UT Southwestern as faculty and to start her practice in Dallas. Besides practicing medicine, Dr. Avila enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and running.
