Simulation Medicine

The Department of Emergency Medicine at UT Southwestern offers a one-year fellowship program in Simulation Medicine for Emergency Medicine physicians. The fellowship will equip trainees with the skills necessary to become a leader in medical simulation. Hands-on training in the Simulation Center will provide experience with a variety of simulation modalities. Skill development will focus on simulation case writing and design, programming, implementation, debriefing, curriculum development, and assessment. Opportunities to apply simulation to medical student education, resident education, interdisciplinary settings, as well as faculty development are provided. Each fellow will gain the experience necessary to design, implement, and maintain a successful simulation program independently.

Fellows will work directly with the Simulation section director, fellowship director, and educational leaders of the department.

Fellows will participate in didactics via synchronous and asynchronous modalities, weekly simulation sessions, journal clubs, simulation based competitions, and research.
