Parkinson's Disease Multidisciplinary Care – a Parkinson's Foundation Center of Excellence
Our Parkinson's Disease (PD) clinic is recognized globally as a center of excellence by the Parkinson's Foundation. Led by Vibhash Sharma, M.D., our program is recognized for its broad clinical expertise, large and diverse patient population, and comprehensive interdisciplinary care model.
What we do
We manage the full spectrum of symptoms and provide evaluation for advanced therapies through our Neuromodulation Clinic. In addition to providing efficient multidisciplinary care, our goal is to provide patient education, caregiver support, and resources through the Total Care Program. Our program is actively engaged in research spanning basic and translational science to clinical trials, with areas including disease mechanisms and biomarkers, genetics, neuromodulation, digital and wearable technologies, and the evaluation of novel therapies for PD.
Collaborations
In collaboration with the Peter O’Donnell Brain Institute, we bring together specialists from Movement Disorders Neurology, Neurosurgery, Neuroradiology, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Neuropsychology, Psychiatry, palliative care, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and social work.
Total Care Program for PD
Supported by the Peter O’Donnell Jr. Brain Institute, the Total Care Program complements clinical care by connecting patients and families with support and resources considering their disease progression and psychosocial concerns. We aim to provide streamlined access to diverse supportive care elements, including support groups, medical family therapy, ancillary and palliative care, and comprehensive education.
