Class of 1960: Richard L. Mabry, M.D, is now writing “medical mysteries with heart.” In addition to two medical books, Dr. Mabry is the author of one nonfiction book, six novellas, and 13 published novels. After retiring from UT Southwestern in 2003, he wrote the nonfiction book, The Tender Scar: Life After the Death of a Spouse, now in its second edition. A UTSW Professor of Otolaryngology for a decade, Dr. Mabry founded the ENT Allergy Section. Before that, he operated a solo private practice for 25 years in Dallas. A worldwide lecturer, he has been author or editor of eight textbooks and more than 100 journal papers.
