Class of 1985: Dr. Leonie Kavanaugh DeRamus

DeRamus sails around the world

Medical School alumna Leonie Kavanaugh DeRamus, M.D., and her partner have spent the past two years sailing around the world on their 2008 Jeanneau DS 45 sailboat. From Portugal, they sailed across the Atlantic, through the Panama Canal, and up the coast of Panama, Costa Rica, and Mexico to Puerto Vallarta. From there, in March of this year, they made the 20-day Pacific crossing to the Marquesas Islands and Tahiti. Next season, they will continue on to New Zealand and Australia. Her medical practice is now limited to taking care of those she meets in their travels. Dr. DeRamus extends an open invitation to her fellow classmates of the Class of 1985 to sail with them!
