Ramping Up Patient Appointments

We are gradually and cautiously welcoming back patients who had to reschedule their nonurgent office visits, such as routine checkups or elective procedures or tests. UT Southwestern remains committed to your safety and well-being whenever you come to any of our facilities.

How We’re Keeping Our Patients Safe

COVID-19 Precheck-in Screenings

All patients and visitors are screened at designated entry points for symptoms and exposure, including a no-touch thermometer scan. Patients with concerning screening criteria are masked and their clinic appointment will be expedited. Guests who fail screening are not permitted to enter the building.

Increased Cleaning

We are disinfecting clinical spaces daily using procedures recommended by the CDC to kill the COVID-19 virus. High-touchpoint areas are wiped down at least three times per day.

Masks for Everyone

We are requiring that everyone – patients, visitors, and staff – wear some form of covering over their nose and mouth. If you don’t have a cloth covering or mask, we’ll be happy to provide one. However, if you have a mask, please bring it.

One Guest Allowed

We ask patients to refrain from bringing a guest or visitor with you to your appointment, but if that isn’t possible, a patient may bring one guest over the age of 12.

Physical Distancing Signs

Our staff is adhering to safe physical distancing guidelines, and we request that you do, too. Signage and floor stickers designate safe distances in high-traffic areas.

Free Parking

For your safety and convenience, where possible, we’ve raised the gates at our garages, and valet parking options are available at some of our facilities, with appropriate precautions in place.

Virtual Visits

Virtual visits will remain an important part of our clinical care.
