2021 Pitch Competition Update
The Second Annual UTSW Pitch Competition will be held virtually on November 2nd, 2021 from the new Pegasus Park facility.
About the 2021 UT Southwestern Pitch Competition
The second annual UT Southwestern (UTSW) Pitch Competition will take place on November 2nd at Pegasus Park. The call for submission closed on August 30th and we are pleased to report nearly 30 proposals were accepted for first round review. This is more than double the amount we received last year!
A committee of UTSW reviewers consisting of PhDs and MDs have narrowed the field of submissions through a multi-round process to achieve five finalists. The review committee evaluated each submission based on novelty, therapeutic potential, and path to proof-of-concept in a venture-backed startup.
This year’s judging panel includes entrepreneurs, biotech investors (Angels/VCs), and pharma scouts. Winners of the competition will be announced as part of a joint UT Southwestern/University of Texas at Dallas awards ceremony on November 9th. A total of $100,000 in funding prize money is available for UT Southwestern winners and will be divided among first and second places.
