Visiting Senior Medical Student Electives

A visiting senior medical student who is enrolled in their final year of studies at an international medical school must apply for a B-1 visa in order to complete medical electives at UT Southwestern. Participation in a maximum of two medical electives for a total of eight weeks is allowed.

Please refer to the visiting medical students for all other relevant forms and information.

Please note that UT Southwestern departments must still submit a copy of the Visiting Medical Student Registration Form (VMSRF) to the Office of International Affairs.

Please allow a minimum of six weeks to receive your visa documents from us. Senior Foreign Medical Students will also need to take into account the time it takes to issue the visa stamp at the U.S. Consulate. View current wait times for a particular U.S. Consulate.
