The ophthalmologists and optometrists of UT Southwestern are ready to serve your patients when an in-depth eye exam or special condition needs to be diagnosed or treated. Consultation is by appointment only.

Appointments

Our clinics are open Monday - Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

When you or your patients call us, please be ready to provide the following information:

  • Your patient's daytime and evening telephone numbers
  • Patient's mailing address
  • Patient's insurance information
  • Your contact information

This helps us contact you or your patient with test results, appointment information and billing questions. At each visit, please remind your patient to bring his or her insurance card, and be prepared to pay the co-payment or deductible. Payment is requested at the time of appointment. We accept cash, check and major credit cards.

Special Care Services

Each of our ophthalmology faculty physicians has received training in one or more areas of sub-specialization.  Among their special interests are:

  • Cancerous and non-cancerous disease of the eye, eyelids, orbit
  • Cataracts
  • Color vision testing
  • Contact lens fitting (bifocal, astigmatism correction, disposable)
  • Corneal and external disease
  • Cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the eye, eyelids, orbit
  • Diagnostic and radiologic services
  • Electrophysiology of the visual system
  • Eye treatment related to systemic diseases, such as diabetes or Graves disease
  • Glaucoma
  • Keratorefractive surgery (e.g., radial keratotomy, LASIK, LASEK and INTACS)
  • Macular disorders
  • Neuro-ophthalmology
  • Orbital diseases
  • Pediatric eye exams and treatment (including infant vision evaluation)
  • Refractions
  • Retinal disease (i.e., retinal detachment, diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration)
  • Strabismus (crossed eyes) adult and pediatric
  • Tear drainage system problems
  • Visual field testing

Our Mission

The mission of the department of ophthalmology at UT Southwestern Medical Center is to provide excellence in clinical care of patients with diseases of the eyes, to advance medical knowledge of the causes and treatments of such diseases and to instruct and educate physicians in the practice of ophthalmology.
