The ninth annual On My Own Time Employee Art Show kicks off soon, and
UT Southwestern artists are being sought to enter their own works between June 8 and July 17.

Entries will be displayed in the UT Southwestern Library from July 27 to Oct. 5. Winning works in each category can be viewed at NorthPark Center from Sept. 20 to Oct. 5.

The annual show, designed to showcase the talents of members of the UT Southwestern community, is part of a regional effort conducted by North Texas Business for Culture and the Arts. All segments of the campus community – faculty, staff, students and contract employees, as well as their spouses — are eligible to participate.

More information will be available at www.utsouthwestern.edu/OMOT, which is scheduled to be operational by June 2.

Links at the Web site will include the rules, key dates for competitors, a slide show featuring past submissions, a history of OMOT and information about NTBCA and discounts available to the artists.

“This is a unique chance to unleash the artistic creativity that I know abounds across our campus,” said Tim Doke, vice president for communications, marketing and public affairs, who has been involved with the event since its inception under the Dallas Business Committee for the Arts. “On My Own Time helps foster a real sense of community as visual arts, in a variety of forms, draw people together with pride and accomplishment.”
