Dr. Alfred Gilman, executive vice president for academic affairs, provost and dean of
UT Southwestern Medical School, and Dr. Rody Cox, professor of internal medicine, were given the highest honors at the fourth annual Excellence in Education Awards ceremony and reception held on campus in October. Dr. Gilman, who annually hosts the event, was surprised with the Basic Science Educator Award, and Dr. Cox was presented with the Distinguished Clinical Science Educator Award. Both awards are voted on by the faculty.
