Purpose and Content
This course is designed to provide an update on recent developments in anesthesiology, including clinical anesthesia and subspecialties such as cardiothoracic, obstetric and pediatric anesthesiology, critical care, difficult airwaymanagement, regional anesthesia, acute painmedicine, and perioperative medicine. Continual advances in science and technology place increasing and changing demands on specialists in anesthesiology. The focus on quality improvement in patient safety and health outcomes has created a need for evidence-based clinical information and the development of practice guidelines. This course will cover the most common comorbidities relevant to anesthesia.

The format of this symposium will be a series of lectures given by experts in the field on a variety of topics, presented in a balanced, unbiasedmanner. The Difficult AirwayWorkshop will provide participants the opportunity to practice proper techniques in airwaymanagement by usingmanikin airway trainers.
