  • Biomolecular NMR Facility
    Built around six Varian NMR spectrometers (2x500, 3x600 and 800MHz), this facility provides instrumentation and expertise for biomolecular solution NMR studies and structure determination.  Facility includes robotics sample changers and laser illumination sources.

  • Structural Biology/X-ray Crystallography
    Makes macromolecular crystallography available as a general tool utilizing all stages of crystallographic projects from cloning, expression and purification via crystallization and structure determination, to structure analysis, presentation and publication.

  • Analytical Ultracentrifugation
    The Beckman Analytical Ultracentrifuge XLI can assist investigators in analyzing molecular weight or molecular interaction between proteins. The XLI has both absorbance and interference optics.

  • Rapid Biochemical Kinetics
    Computer-controlled rapid mixing and optical spectroscopic instruments for quenched-flow and stopped-flow kinetic experiments.

  • DNA Sequencing/McDermott Center
    Provides genotyping, SNP detection assays and DNA sequencing for UT Southwestern Medical Center Investigators. Samples are amplified using Applied Biosystems Inc.(ABI) Big Dye Terminator 3.1 chemistry, and analyzed on ABI capillary instruments.

  • Molecular and Cellular Imaging
    The centralized research and teaching Molecular and Cellular Imaging Core Facility provides light- and electron-microscopy services in both life and physical sciences.

  • Protein Chemistry Technology Center
    This center provides services for protein and peptide analysis, including mass spectrometry, peptide synthesis, protein sequencing, and phosphorylation site analysis.
