The 7th Annual Postdoctoral Research Symposium will be held from February 5th-10th, 2010.  This annual research symposium showcases the cutting-edge research of postdoctoral scholars at UT Southwestern Medical Center.  The symposium includes a five day Poster Session and concludes on Wednesday February 10th with a University Lecture, followed by an Award Ceremony and Reception.  All events are held on North campus at UT Southwestern Medical Center. The ULS speaker this year will be Huda Zoghbi, M.D., a Howard Hughes Investigator at the Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, TX.

The Graduate School of Biomedical Science and Postdoctoral Association present several awards at the symposium, including the Award for Excellence in Postdoctoral Research ($2000.00), Mentor of the Year Award, Distinguished Service Award and several awards for the best posters. The scholar who receives the Award for Excellence in Postdoctoral Research presents his/her work at the next University Lecture Series, Wednesday, February 17th, 2010.

Since its inception, the Annual Postdoctoral Research Symposium has proven to be a valuable opportunity for postdoctoral scholars to present their scientific work to the UT Southwestern community.

Keep checking the PDA website for more information leading up to the event (including abstract submission deadlines) or contact Dr. Deirdre Brekken in the Postdoctoral Affairs Office of the Graduate School.
